When the cashier asks for ID before accepting my credit card or check, I do not get insulted. She’s doing her job. She’s helping to keep me and my bank account safe by attempting to insure that no one is using my card unauthorized. Certainly there is enough opportunity for theft during this holiday season. Don’t get all bent out of shape if someone wants to see verification that you are really the owner of the money you’re trying to spend.

You shouldn’t be hiring a contractor that doesn’t have references. Before entrusting your home or business to someone as important as an electrician, you have a right to know of past clients.  We won’t be insulted if you ask for references. Then make sure you call at least two of the references for feedback.
